Old Yeller

The question has come up in my house and I'm sure has run through the mind of any pet owner. How much would you spend on your animal in the event of a medical emergency. I was listening on the radio and hearing the calls coming in and people were spending anywhere from $3000 to $10000 on injuries for their pets. Including one lady that was making regular weekly visits to get echo cardiogram done on her cat (who knows how much that ended up being).

My stance is that I wouldn't mind spending the money if I have it. My wife on the other hand will clean out our bank account on our dog and rightfully so (cause our dog is awesome). I'm a little more rational, knowing that we have a mortgage and family to support. Being a pet owner has really changed how I look at animals, cause they show and give more love and loyalty that any humans. They really do become part of the family and I don't ever see myself without a dog. Everyday that I get home, Simba (my mini schnauzer) is waiting at the door, tail wagging just ready to be acknowledged like its the first time we've ever met (EVERYTIME). I'm partial to dogs, but I'm sure its the same with any pet.

Anyways, I think I need to get insurance for my pet, they have those now you know!
